Meet Nicolas Kumm
Nicolas Kumm is the general manager of Marshfield Utilities, a public utility company that provides electric, water, and dark fiber communication service to the community of Marshfield, Wisconsin. He has been working at Marshfield Utilities for over 20 years, starting as an electrical engineer and rising to his current position in 2018. He is responsible for the overall management and control of the operation of the business and property of the utility system, as well as planning, directing, coordinating and managing all activities of the utility.
Nick has a Bachelor of Science degree in electrical engineering from University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee and is currently finishing a master of business administration degree in applied leadership and decision making from UW-Stevens Point.
Nick has become a recognized leader at the state and national level amongst the municipal utility industry. He is serving on the state electric utility association executive team as chair-elect and just finished serving the American Public Power Association Engineering & Operations Section Chair. Nick is a member of legal and regulatory bodies for state associations for matters related to water and electricity.
Nick is an active member of the community, volunteering and supporting various youth athletic events. Nick has been on the Board of Director’s for the Marshfield Area Chamber of Commerce and Industry since 2018 and most recently participated in the hiring process for the new Executive Director. Nick is always looking for ways to support his community and its growth. He is excited to make new connections and enhance the lives of those in central Wisconsin through the Marshfield Area Community Foundation.
Nick and his wife, Dawn, enjoy spending time cheering on their two sons at various baseball and football games. They enjoy spending their spare time traveling, sitting around a campfire, and going for walks.
