Rachel Stankowski

Meet Dr. Rachel Stankowski

Rachel is a Project Manager at Family Health Center of Marshfield, Inc. (FHC), a community health center based in Marshfield that is dedicated to providing high quality health care services to the residents of underserved communities in rural central, northern, and western Wisconsin. As a member of FHC’s Community Partnerships & Programs team, Rachel uses her expertise in grant writing, consortium building, and program development to work with a broad range of partners to leverage local resources and expertise to address community needs. As an advocate for the broader community health center movement and a foster-turned-adoptive parent, Rachel works to give voice to the most vulnerable among us and believes strongly that communities thrive when individuals and organizations work together toward common goals. She is proud to have the opportunity to support the work of the Marshfield Area Community Foundation.

Rachel has a background that demonstrates a commitment to lifelong learning, community engagement, and promotion of high-quality services in rural Wisconsin. She has a Bachelor’s Degree in Chemistry from Michigan Technological University in Houghton, MI, a PhD in Emerging Infectious Disease from Uniformed Services University in Bethesda, MD, and is a member of the Leadership Marshfield Class of 2017. Rachel joined Marshfield Clinic Health System as a Scientific Research Writer in the Marshfield Clinic Research Institute in 2011 where she supported the development of grants and manuscripts for clinical providers and patient-serving programs. In 2016, she transitioned to FHC where she continues to develop and support grant-funded community programming with a particular focus on substance use prevention, treatment, recovery, and harm reduction programs. Since 2018, Rachel has served as the leader of Girl Scout Troop 6339, which includes her daughter and 16 other amazing girls in grades 4K to six, and also volunteers on the Marshfield Area Girl Scouts Service Team to plan events for Girl Scouts from Marshfield, Auburndale, and Spencer. In 2023, Rachel was appointed to the Everett Roehl Marshfield Public Library Board of Directors.

Rachel loves living in Marshfield with her brilliant husband Seth, ridiculously optimistic daughter Morgan, and doodly dog Curly, all of whom enjoy their close proximity to Wildwood Park & Zoo and Weber’s Dairy.
