Meet Tony Iniguez
As a Trauma Education Specialist with the Marshfield Child Advocacy Center (MCAC) at the Marshfield Clinic, Tony’s primary role is to provide direct trauma-informed and responsive supports to children and families who may have experienced relational poverty, childhood adversity and/or trauma. His vision for our community is to create safe and relationally rich environments for children, caregivers, teachers, and community members. Prior to joining the MCAC, Tony’s career spanned 17 years as an art educator in Aurora, IL and Adams Friendship, WI. Tony Iniguez brings to this board, leadership rooted in empathy and compassion with a focus on systemic equity.
Tony is also on the board of directors for the Child Advocacy Centers of Wisconsin, a statewide chapter for CACs that provide support, education, advocacy, and networking opportunities to enhance Wisconsin’s response to child maltreatment, drug endangerment, and neglect. He serves on various community workgroups such as MACY’s Mental Health Task Force, Youth Justice Advisory Council, Family Health Center’s Central Wisconsin Partnership for Recovery, and the Marshfield Schools’ Mental Health Consortium Sponsorship Committee. Tony is a Trust-Based Relational Intervention® Practitioner and Neurosequential Model in Education Trainer.
Tony is a 2008 Beijing and 1992 Barcelona Paralympian in wheelchair track and marathon. His list of accomplishments includes marathon wins at Chicago, Detroit, Minneapolis, Columbus, Cleveland and Alaska. He also attended the 2012 London Paralympic Games, 2015 IPC Athletics World Championships in Doha, Qatar, and 2013 IPC Athletics World Championships in Lyon, France as a wheelchair track coach.
It is an honor for Tony to serve on the board of directors for the Marshfield Area Community Foundation; it is one small way to serve and give back to his community.
