Community Grant Update

We ask our grant recipients to give us an update on how their grant made an impact with their organization. Huey’s Hideaway in Medford, Wisconsin is a great example of how a grant received from the Marshfield Area Community Foundation made an impact in their community.

Huey’s Hideaway provides a space with interactive exhibits for kids which lets them explore new ideas and spark their imagination! When you walk thru the building you can become a cashier at a grocery store, a dentist, a farmer, or a beautician to name just a few stations. In the summer, Huey’s Hideaway expands its programming to include a summer day camp. With the help of a grant from the Marshfield Area Community Foundation, they were able to serve 56 children throughout the summer. They had 22 children attending each day. Care was available from 7:30 a.m. until 5:15 p.m. for 12 weeks. They were able to put a dent in an ever-growing need for childcare. Their camp can serve kids of all abilities and income levels.

It’s certainly worth the trip to Medford to check out this great organization! The Marshfield Foundation is thrilled to have supported this important program in our service area.
