Keep Kids Warm 2026

Since 2013, the Keep Kids Warm Fund has helped local children in need get the winter gear Wisconsin weather demands. Generous donors have sustained this effort year after year, helping ensure children have the essentials to stay warm.

As the Marshfield Area Community Foundation’s service area has grown, Keep Kids Warm is evolving to reach more children through the organizations families already know and trust. Rather than holding a single-day distribution event, the fund will work directly with food pantries, clothing closets, school counselors, and other local partners to make winter gear available when and where children need it. Through this approach, partners will identify needs among the families they serve and apply for funding through the community foundation. These grants will help partners keep winter gear on hand, providing timely, personal support in familiar settings.

“As local partners continue to walk with families, we’ll understand the real needs for winter gear and supplement gently used items, which is more environmentally and fiscally responsible. We’ll also keep in continual communication with partners, better understanding related needs and how we might further be of support,” Marshfield Area Community Foundation Executive Director Kaelie Gomez explained.

The community foundation and its partners are dedicated to reaching more children, more effectively, at the right time. Equipping our network means Keep Kids Warm is helping bring support closer to children in need. School counselors, social workers, and nonprofits with aligned missions—including food pantries with clothing closets—within the foundation’s service area are welcome to apply for funding.
